The Bumbo

Griffin is now pretty good at sitting in his Bumbo. When it it, his looks vary between Winston Churchill and Jabba the Hut.

Sometimes, I set him on the coffee table, and he watches me fold laundry or clean the room.

One morning, I noticed he was very interested in The Price is Right. I think maybe all the different noises and colors caught his eye, but it was hilarious. He looked like a little man, watching his "program."

Griffin likes the tray that attaches to the Bumbo for toys, snacks, etc. Although he is not too interested in toys yet, he does like to have them around to look at or feel. Sometimes throw.

The right edge of the picture above showcases Giraffe's behind. Griffin loves Giraffe, and vice versa. Perhaps maybe because they both start with 'G'? I think so. Giraffe goes with us everywhere, as he is a cool guy to have around.

Eyelashes.

My little boy has eyelashes that all little girls want. They are long, dark, and have just the right curl on the end. Sometimes, they get tangled up in eachother. The following pictures do not do the eyelashes justice, but you get the idea...

I love my perfect boy.

Playing With Dad

Sometimes Brian goes into work an hour late because he spends some time playing with Griffin in the morning. If you have never seen a happy baby, please go in and get Griffin when he wakes up. It is adorable. He is irresistibly cute in the mornings.

Sometimes they play on the "activity gym." Griffin insists that Brian can fit, too.

My two boys in their white P.J.s? Melts my heart.

Griffin also likes to play with Daddy when the work day is finished.

They practice standing.

Kisses.

Sometimes they fly.

Playing with Dad is the best!

Gram and Grandpa

Last week, Gram and Grandpa came into town for Jamie's wedding. They came a couple days early and got to spend some one-on-one time with Griffin.

They got to play all day together.

I think Gram and Grandpa had a good time.

Obviously, Griffin had a good time, too :)

Mr. Man

Most of the comments I get about Griffin invovle how handsome he is or how much he looks like a little man. He went from the tiny wrinkly old man stage to the tiny normal man looking stage, skipping "baby" altogether. He is masculine looking - I think if I put a bow on his head, he would still look like a boy.

In preparing for his arrival, I would gather clothes here and there while I was out, ie: buy one or two things every time I went to Target, or maybe I would just happen to stumble upon BabyGap, etc. One evening while waiting for a table at Grimaldi's, we went browsing in the surrounding stores. Gymboree was right across the way, so we had to go in. Brian, who had been less than thrilled with my purchasing habits, couldn't help himself when he saw a certain outfit.

Brian quietly said "He will look just like me."

I think he does.

Rolling Over

My sweet baby was three months old yesterday. I can't believe it, he is so very big. We think he weighs over 14 lbs now, and who knows how long he is. When I hold him he looks like a toddler :)

-He likes to stand up on his legs
-He prefers to face out in order to see everything. He loves riding around with me in his Baby Bjorn
-He likes to be held (and really, who doesn't?) and snuggled
-He holds his head up like a regular person now
-He like a certain blanket for naps, and he rubs his little face into it
-He tolerates sitting in his Bumbo, and is quite good at it
-He gets really excited on his play mat and starts to kick his legs really really fast
-He HATES the car...unless there is someone riding back there with him to smile and reinsert his Bink
-He is rolling over. Yes, it is happening. For your enjoyment, please view the video here

You. Are. Welcome.

Beautiful Boy

The past 3 days have been huge for Griffin. He is a different baby!

He has moved on from cooing to actively making noise. To be heard. Loudly. For long periods of time. I LOVE IT.

He is more interactive. He will copy what you do with your face, or try very hard to do so. If you look away while playing, he will shake his little arms and squawk to get your attention.

He lays on his play-mat and kicks and pushes the toys hanging down. The other day, he grabbed the rings and shook them back and forth.

I can tell he loves me in his eyes. When I come in to get him in the mornings, I get a big grin from him and then he clutches onto my hair and burrows his head into my neck. It's the best.

The aforementioned burrowing is pretty funny. He burrows into armpits, too.

Last night, he rolled over for the first time! He did it three times last night, and once this morning. Brilliant child :)

He is the most wonderful, perfect thing in the world.

Griffin Hearts Baths

Griffin loves himself a bath. He could be screaming forever, and as soon as I sit him in the water, he goes silent. He kicks and kicks and smiles and splashes and kicks. It is so cute.

He is sad when you take him out, mostly because he is cold, I think. I wrap him up tight in one of his ridiculous towels (a shark, a fish, etc) and proceed to powder his bum, lotion his body, and brush his hair.

One night, I left his brush downstairs.

His crazy eyes make it.

Seriously. He is so cute. And I really do think I'm being fair.

Love.

Just Like Dad

"He looks just like Brian!" is the comment I get from most everybody. My family recently dubbed him "Mini Merkley" and my favorite came from Bery, our housekeeper: "His face look like husband."

I love having a mini-Cowboy.

And I'm pretty sure Griffin likes being his dad's mini, too.
